Hiking Flora Peak
Length: 12 km
Elevation Gain: 1,300 m
Difficulty Level: Hard
Flora Peak trailhead is in Chilliwack. Chilliwack has some great trails with beautiful views, like the MacDonald Peak Hiking Trail, which starts on the other side of the road.
Flora Peak trail is steep. It starts ascending right away. There may be some short flat sections here and there, but generally, it continues upward. The last couple of hundred meters are a boulder field, but you never need to use your hands. There is no technical section on the trail.
If you start in the early morning, you are only exposed to the sun after you are two-thirds of the way in. However, once you come back, you will be exposed to the sun for almost half of the way. So bring sun protection.
Trail markers are abundant and clear. An offline map is always a good idea.
There are a couple of large streams along the trail. If you don’t want to bring too much water, you could bring a water filter and get water from the streams.
You will have 360-degree views at the peak.
