Gion (祇園), is a famous geisha district in Kyoto, Japan. Within Gion, the most popular street is Hanamikoji (花見小路). On both sides of Hanamikoji are traditional houses which most of them now serve as shops and restaurants. Another scenic area of Gion is Shirakawa Lane. Shirakawa Lane is running parallel to a canal and one side of the canal are lining with weeping willow trees and plum trees, and another side are usually high-end restaurants.
