Driving: 3 hours round trip, Hiking Distance: 30 km, Hiking Time: 10 hours, Elevation gain: 1632 m, Destination: One…Panorama Ridge.

Panorama ridge trail is in Garibaldi Provincial Park. The trail leading to the peak is well maintained. There is no technical section. However, it is notoriously long. If you bypass lake side detour, you might be able to shave off one km or two, but I highly recommend you doing Garibaldi lake after coming back from the ridge.

Water sources are abundant along the trail, especially after Taylor Meadows camp site. Outhouses are at several locations, at the trailhead, at the junction between the lake trail and the trail to Taylor meadows, at the Taylor meadows campsite, at the junction between Panorama ridge trail and the lake, and the lake itself.

The first 6km of the trail is the same as the one goes to Garibaldi Lake. Starting at the 3km mark, there are several switch backs that last for more than two km’s. At the 6 km junction, go left to Taylor Meadows and continue to Panorama Ridge. Go right to Garibaldi Lake.

There is almost no shade after Taylor Meadows campsite, so bring sun protection. last one km or so before the peak is a scree and boulder field.

On the ridge, you have a clear view of Mount Garibaldi, Garibaldi Lake, The Table, Mount Price, The Black Tusk and some other mountains and lakes whose names I don’t know.

This hiking trail is one of the more difficult trails I have been to. But it also offers one of the best views, not only at the top but also along the trail.
