Icefields Parkway, connects Banff National Park and Jasper National Park. It was named as drive of a lifetime by National Geographic. Traveling along the highway, sometime without even getting out of cars, drivers can see beautiful mountains, gorgeous waterfalls, emerald lakes, lush forests and of course magical glaciers and icefields. If you are lucky, you can also encounter some wild lives along the highway.
The highway is 230 km long. It takes about 3 to 4 hours to drive from Banff to Jasper non-stop. However, you must (not recommended, but must) plan the whole day for driving this highway. The reason is that there are so many things to see and do on this highway. Some high lights of this highway are: Bow Lake, Peyto Lake, Waterfowl Lakes, Mistaya Canyon, Weeping Wall, The Big Hill and the Big Bend, Tangle Creek Falls, Sunwapta Falls, and Athabasca Falls. You also drive pass Columbia icefield. But if you like me, you will leave more time for Columbia icefield for another day.
